Catch the Wind on Lake Zug!
Have you ever watched windsurfers gliding across the lake and wished you could join them? Now is your chance.
Windsurfing combines the thrill of surfing with the freedom of sailing. It’s dynamic, fun, and thanks to modern equipment, much easier to start than you might think. This Introduction Day is designed for complete beginners who want to get wet, have fun, and experience the unique feeling of being powered by the wind.
What to Expect
This is a workshop, not a lecture. We keep the theory short so we can maximise your time on the water.
- Morning: We start with a simulator session on land to understand how the wind works. Then, we hit the water to practice balancing, lifting the sail (uphauling), and your first short rides.
- Lunch: A break to relax and recharge at Zug Harbour.
- Afternoon: We focus on steering, turning the board around (tacking), and sailing towards a specific point.
Our Goal for You: We don’t promise you’ll be an Olympian in one day! But by the end of the session, our aim is for you to be able to stand up, sail across the wind, and—most importantly—have a smile on your face.

You will be coached by Dave, a passionate sailor and windsurfing coach with over 35 years of experience on the water.
- Decades of Teaching: Former RYA Senior Instructor and Level 5 Windsurfing Coach.
- Science of Movement: With a degree in Sports Science, Dave understands the biomechanics of the sport. He teaches you how to use technique, not strength, making learning faster and less tiring.

Common Questions
Q: Do I need to be strong to windsurf?
A: No! This is a common myth. We use technique and balance, not brute force. Our modern, lightweight training sails make it accessible for everyone.
Q: What if I have never done water sports before?
A: Perfect. This course is designed for absolute beginners. You don’t need any prior sailing or surfing experience.
Q: Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
A: You should be comfortable in the water, but you will be wearing a buoyancy aid at all times, which keeps you afloat effortlessly.
Q: Will I get wet? A: Yes! Falling in is part of the fun (and the learning process). But don’t worry, our warm wetsuits will keep you comfortable.
