We have taken the popular assisted bareboat (or bareboat assist) model and upgraded it for our independent yacht charter clients. When you book your sailing holiday through our agency during select weeks, you slip lines from our exact dock in Croatia. You are in full command of your own vessel, enjoying a true bareboat charter while sailing in tandem with Dave and our own yacht “All Winds“.
Think of it as a guided sailing charter that meets the ultimate buddy boat setup. It is a brilliant skippered charter alternative: join us on the quay for morning weather routing and passage planning, sail your own plan during the day with our VHF support just a call away, and rendezvous at the evening anchorage. Total independence, backed by expert support.

How the On-the-Water Support Works
We help you with the planning and logistics and buddy boat you on your first independent charter. You take full responsibility and run your own boat, but plan and sail with the group aboard All Winds to give you moral support.

Standard flotillas often revolve around a large-group, social, or “party” atmosphere with 10 to 15 boats. Bareboat in Company is modelled after how experienced cruisers sail: authentic, small-group buddy boating. It is an exclusive two-boat setup focused on mutual support. You get a coach on the buddy boat to give you tips and plan with you in the evenings, but you execute that plan entirely independently during the day.
To skipper your own yacht in Croatia, you will need a recognised skipper’s license (like the RYA Day Skipper, ICC, or equivalent) and a VHF radio license. This is a true transition charter, meaning you are the legally responsible skipper of your vessel, with our coaching yacht acting as your safety net.
While we sit down together the evening before to collaborate on a plan and review the weather, you have the freedom to sail your own route. We operate on a mutual support system—you execute your day on the water independently, and we simply regroup at the agreed-upon anchorage or marina for your evening arrival assist.
Once we have our initial discovery call to confirm dates and your crew’s needs, we act as your charter agency. We will source the perfect yacht for you from the exact same trusted base in Croatia where the All Winds is moored, ensuring we slip lines from the same dock.
Because you charter the boat independently through our agency, the actual yacht’s price depends entirely on the size, age, and model of the boat you choose. For our cruiser-style buddy boat setup, evening route planning, and daily arrival assistance, we charge a flat fee of €400 per week. Most skippers simply roll this small fee into the overall boat price to split evenly with their crew, giving everyone an affordable safety net.
No, your €400 support fee covers the on-the-water assistance and routing. You are entirely responsible for provisioning your own yacht and managing your crew’s meals.
However, we love the social side of the cruiser lifestyle! You are always welcome to raft up for a sundowner or join the All Winds crew when we head ashore to a local konoba for dinner. You get the perfect mix of total independence and great company when you want it.
