SUMMARY:11-Day Practical Seamanship &amp\; Coastal Passage
DESCRIPTION:\nHands-on boat handling\, dynamic passage planning\, night wat
ches\, and qualifying sea time. \n\n\n\nBeyond the 7-Day Compromise: Time
to Actually Sail\n\n\n\nThis 11-day extended coaching passage focuses on p
ractical seamanship in Croatia\, eliminating that compromise entirely.\n\n
\n\nMost sailing courses try to squeeze everything into seven rushed days.
The result is almost always a compromise: you either spend the entire wee
k motoring to rack up required mileage on an arbitrary route\, or you stay
tethered near the home marina doing repetitive docking drills while your
logbook sits empty.\n\n\n\nEleven days gives us the luxury of time. We hav
e the space to wait for the right weather windows and complete genuine lon
ger passages. There is no rigid calendar dictating when we cast off. Coach
ing isn’t confined to a classroom or isolated drill sessions—it happen
 s continuously\, whether we are trimming sails on a 60-mile run\, anchorin
g in a quiet bay\, or navigating after dark.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe cap this flagsh
ip week at strictly three guests (with the possibility for one cabin to ha
ve double occupancy if you bring someone to share with). Every guest recei
ves a guaranteed private double cabin—no hot-bunking\, no sharing with s
trangers\, and a relaxed boat culture.\n\n\n\nWho This 11-Day "Week" Is Fo
r:\n\n\n\n\nSwiss Hochseeausweis &amp\; RYA Candidates: Log a substantial
block of verified sea time\, including active watch leadership\, dynamic w
eather routing\, and the opportunity for some longer passages with night n
avigation.\n\n\n\nCharter Skippers &amp\; Boat Owners: Move beyond textboo
k theory. Master the kinetic handling of a sailing yacht in gusty conditio
ns\, gain quiet confidence in uncrowded autumn ports\, and learn to handle
complex scenarios short-handed.\n\n\n\nPassage Sailors: Experience the au
thentic rhythm of extended sea time—managing fatigue\, navigation watche
s\, and changing weather systems along Dalmatia’s offshore islands.\n\n\
 n\n\nWhat You’ll Master &amp\; Experience:\n\n\n\n\nWeather-Driven Passa
ge Planning: How to read Adriatic front transitions\, evaluate Bora/Jugo t
riggers\, and plan 50-to-100+ mile legs that work with the sea rather than
against it.\n\n\n\nExtended Passages &amp\; Night Navigation: When the we
ather window opens\, we execute longer coastal runs—giving you practical
experience with formal watch rotations\, log keeping\, identifying unlit
coastal features\, and entering unfamiliar harbours or anchorages after da
rk.\n\n\n\nDemystifying Close-Quarters Handling: Docking a sailing boat sh
 ouldn’t be a source of dread\, and we don't turn it into high-stress\, d
ogmatic performance art. Berthing is simply another routine part of seaman
ship. We give you calm\, versatile tools to handle Mediterranean lazy line
s\, crosswinds\, and prop walk cleanly— leaving the drama on the pontoon
.\n\n\n\nDynamic Anchor Work: Selecting safe anchorages based on forecast
shifts\, setting and testing ground tackle properly\, and practical techni
ques for securing lines ashore in deep bays.\n\n\n\nSail Trim &amp\; Dynam
 ic Balance: Real-world heavy-weather tactics\, active reefing underway\, b
oat balance\, and downwind sail trim using the Gennaker when conditions al
 ign.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Flexible 11-Day Flow (Weather-Led\, Not Calendar-Bound
)\n\n\n\nBecause real seamanship means adapting to the elements\, we do no
 t stick to a rigid day-by-day timetable set months in advance.\n\n\n\nIf t
he breeze is steady during the opening days\, we might head straight out o
n a longer passage and integrate our coaching along the way. If the weathe
r is unsettled\, we might spend several days exploring island bays and ref
ining close-quarters techniques before launching an extended overnight run
.\n\n\n\n\nSunday (Arrival from 12:00): Board All Winds at Marina Frapa (R
ogoznica). Safety walkthrough\, yacht systems orientation\, weather analys
is\, and opening crew dinner.\n\n\n\nThe 10 Days on the Water: A dynamic m
ix of longer coastal passages (incorporating night navigation and watch sy
stems)\, quiet anchorages\, and hands-on boat handling in varied harbours.
We adapt the balance of passages and dedicated skills sessions to make th
e absolute best use of the prevailing wind and sea state.\n\n\n\nMonday/Tu
esday (Final Leg &amp\; Port Return): Final run back to Marina Frapa\, con
 solidation berthing\, and our debrief dinner.\n\n\n\nWednesday (Check-out
by 09:00 AM): Certificate signing\, official logbook stamping\, personal r
 eview audit\, and relaxed mid-week departures.\n\n\n\n\nTransparent Pricin
g &amp\; Private Cabin Comfort\n\n\n\nLike all All Winds events\, this wee
k operates on complete pricing transparency. There are no hidden cash kitt
ies (Bordkasse)\, no end-of-week cleaning charges\, and no fuel surcharges
.\n\n\n\n\nPrivate Double Cabin (Solo Sailor): CHF 3\,800\n\n\n\nShared Do
uble Cabin (Couples or friends booking together): CHF 2\,450 per person\n\
 n\n\n\nStrictly limited to a maximum of 3 guest cabins / 3 (max 4) guests.
 \n\n\n\nWhat’s Included:\n\n\n\n\n11 days / 10 nights aboard All Winds (
Beneteau Oceanis 41.1) in a guaranteed private double cabin.\n\n\n\n3:1 lo
w-ratio coaching and instruction with an experienced owner-skipper.\n\n\n\
nAll marina berthing fees\, port dues\, mooring balls\, and transit logs.\
 n\n\n\nAll yacht diesel and consumables.\n\n\n\nProfessional yacht end-cle
aning and fresh bed linen.\n\n\n\nComplete onboard provisioning for all br
 eakfasts\, lunches\, and daytime sailing snacks.\n\n\n\nOfficial Audited S
ea Time Log &amp\; Mileage Certificate\, plus an individual Practical Seam
anship Skills Portfolio (fully valid for the Swiss Hochseeausweis and RYA
requirements).\n\n\n\n\n(Not included: Evening dinners ashore and personal
  travel to/from Rogoznica.)\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy Join This October Passage?\n\n\
n\n\nOctober is Dalmatia’s Purest Sailing Month: The summer charter crow
ds and flotillas are gone\, sea temperatures remain comfortable (19–20°
C)\, and genuine sailing breeze replaces the light summer haze.\n\n\n\nTru
e Rest Between Watches: You never share a cabin with a stranger. When your
watch ends\, you step down into your own quiet\, comfortable double cabin
to sleep properly.\n\n\n\nMid-Week Wednesday Departure: Travel home calml
y without the Saturday airport crowds or weekend flight price spikes.\n\n\
n\nZero Grey Areas: Many sailing courses are run by skippers holding only
a recreational license like the Swiss Hochseeschein. All Winds is commerci
ally registered in Croatia and run by a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmas
ter. There are no shortcuts or legal grey areas—everything on board is 1
00% professional and above board.\n\n\n\n\nOnboard Language &amp\; Communi
cation\n\n\n\nEnglish is the official working language aboard All Winds\,
reflecting international maritime standards for coastal navigation\, log k
eeping\, and VHF radio communication. However\, clarity and comfort always
come first.\n\n\n\nYour coach speaks fluent German and fully understands
Swiss German (Schwiizerdütsch). While commands\, standard procedures\, an
d navigation are run in English\, complex aerodynamic concepts\, technical
systems\, and debriefs can easily be explained in German whenever needed
to ensure complete confidence and zero stress.\n\n\n\nAbout Your Coach\n\n
\n\nReal coaching isn't just about knowing how to handle a boat\; it is ab
out understanding how adults acquire motor skills\, develop spatial judgme
nt\, and build genuine instinct under seaway without feeling overwhelmed.\
n\n\n\n\n\n\nAtlantic Roots: Grew up sailing from childhood along the rugg
ed south coast of Ireland\, not far from the famous Fastnet Rock—one of
the world's most demanding natural testing grounds for seamanship.\n\n\n\n
35+ Years of Watersports Coaching: Decades spent coaching and developing s
ailors across the globe\, from serving as Chief Instructor at one of Irela
nd’s largest commercial watersports centres to running a sailing school
in Maui\, Hawaii.\n\n\n\nAcademic Foundation in Human Performance: Holds a
First-Class Honours Degree in Sports &amp\; Exercise Science and a Diplom
a in Sports Management. This background brings a structured\, analytical u
nderstanding of motor learning\, kinetic feel\, and cognitive load managem
ent to boat handling—moving far beyond the traditional "watch me do it"
teaching style.\n\n\n\nInstructional Background: Previously certified as a
 n RYA/ISA Chief Instructor (Dinghy &amp\; Dayboat)\, RYA/ISA Advanced &amp
\; Safety Boat Powerboat Instructor\, and Level 5 Windsurfing Instructor.\
n\n\n\nCommercially Endorsed: Holds a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaste
 r. All Winds is maintained and operated to the Flag State's professional s
 tandards.\n\n\n\n\nBooking\, Insurance &amp\; Terms\n\n\n\nAll Winds Adven
tures is operated by Swiss Alpine Adventure GmbH (Switzerland) and All Win
 ds Adventures d.o.o. (Croatia)\, owner of s/y All Winds.\n\n\n\nInsurance
is the responsibility of the participant\; by completing your booking\, yo
u agree to act responsibly at all times on this event and not to hold Swis
s Alpine Adventure/All Winds Adventures or any person involved responsible
