SUMMARY:10-Day Practical Seamanship &amp\; Coastal Passage
DESCRIPTION:\nHands-on boat handling\, dynamic passage planning\, night wat
ches\, and qualifying sea time. \n\n\n\nBeyond the 7-Day Compromise: Time
to Actually Sail\n\n\n\nThis 10-day extended coaching passage focuses on p
ractical seamanship in Croatia\, eliminating that compromise entirely.\n\n
\n\nMost sailing courses try to squeeze everything into seven rushed days.
The result is almost always a compromise: you either spend the entire wee
k motoring to rack up required mileage on an arbitrary route\, or you stay
tethered near the home marina doing repetitive docking drills while your
logbook sits empty.\n\n\n\nTen days gives us the luxury of time. We have t
he space to wait for the right weather windows and complete genuine longer
passages. There is no rigid calendar dictating when we cast off. Coaching
isn’t confined to a classroom or isolated drill sessions—it happens c
 ontinuously\, whether we are trimming sails on a 60-mile run\, anchoring i
n a quiet bay\, or navigating after dark.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe cap this flagship
week at strictly three guests (with the possibility for one cabin to have
double occupancy if you bring someone to share with). Every guest receives
a guaranteed private double cabin—no hot-bunking\, no sharing with stra
 ngers\, and a relaxed boat culture.\n\n\n\nWho This 10-Day Week Is For:\n\
n\n\n\nSwiss Hochseeausweis &amp\; RYA Candidates: Log a substantial block
of verified sea time\, including active watch leadership\, dynamic weathe
r routing\, and the opportunity for some longer passages with night naviga
tion.\n\n\n\nCharter Skippers &amp\; Boat Owners: Move beyond textbook the
ory. Master the kinetic handling of a sailing yacht in gusty conditions\,
gain quiet confidence in uncrowded autumn ports\, and learn to handle comp
lex scenarios short-handed.\n\n\n\nPassage Sailors: Experience the authent
ic rhythm of extended sea time—managing fatigue\, navigation watches\, a
nd changing weather systems along Dalmatia’s offshore islands.\n\n\n\n\n
 What You’ll Master &amp\; Experience:\n\n\n\n\nWeather-Driven Passage Pl
anning: How to read Adriatic front transitions\, evaluate Bora/Jugo trigge
rs\, and plan 50-to-100+ mile legs that work with the sea rather than agai
nst it.\n\n\n\nExtended Passages &amp\; Night Navigation: When the weather
window opens\, we execute longer coastal runs—giving you practical expe
rience with formal watch rotations\, log keeping\, identifying unlit coast
al features\, and entering unfamiliar harbours or anchorages after dark.\n
\n\n\nDemystifying Close-Quarters Handling: Docking a sailing boat shouldn
’t be a source of dread\, and we don't turn it into high-stress\, dogmat
ic performance art. Berthing is simply another routine part of seamanship.
We give you calm\, versatile tools to handle Mediterranean lazy lines\, c
rosswinds\, and prop walk cleanly— leaving the drama on the pontoon.\n\n
\n\nDynamic Anchor Work: Selecting safe anchorages based on forecast shift
s\, setting and testing ground tackle properly\, and practical techniques
for securing lines ashore in deep bays.\n\n\n\nSail Trim &amp\; Dynamic Ba
 lance: Real-world heavy-weather tactics\, active reefing underway\, boat b
alance\, and downwind sail trim using the Gennaker when conditions align.\
 n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Flexible 10-Day Flow (Weather-Led\, Not Calendar-Bound)\n\n
\n\nBecause real seamanship means adapting to the elements\, we do not sti
ck to a rigid day-by-day timetable set months in advance.\n\n\n\nIf the br
eeze is steady during the opening days\, we might head straight out on a l
onger passage and integrate our coaching along the way. If the weather is
unsettled\, we might spend several days exploring island bays and refining
close-quarters techniques before launching an extended overnight run.\n\n
\n\n\nSunday (Arrival from 12:00): Board All Winds at Marina Frapa (Rogozn
ica). Safety walkthrough\, yacht systems orientation\, weather analysis\,
and opening crew dinner.\n\n\n\nThe 10 Days on the Water: A dynamic mix of
longer coastal passages (incorporating night navigation and watch systems
)\, quiet anchorages\, and hands-on boat handling in varied harbours. We a
dapt the balance of passages and dedicated skills sessions to make the abs
olute best use of the prevailing wind and sea state.\n\n\n\nMonday (Final
Leg &amp\; Port Return): Final run back to Marina Frapa\, consolidation be
 rthing\, and our debrief dinner.\n\n\n\nTuesday (Check-out by 09:00 AM): C
 ertificate signing\, official logbook stamping\, personal review audit\, a
 nd relaxed mid-week departures.\n\n\n\n\nTransparent Pricing &amp\; Privat
e Cabin Comfort\n\n\n\nLike all All Winds events\, this week operates on c
omplete pricing transparency. There are no hidden cash kitties (Bordkasse)
 \, no end-of-week cleaning charges\, and no fuel surcharges.\n\n\n\n\nPriv
ate Double Cabin (Solo Sailor): CHF 3\,800\n\n\n\nShared Double Cabin (Cou
ples or friends booking together): CHF 2\,450 per person\n\n\n\n\nStrictly
  limited to a maximum of 3 guest cabins / 3 (max 4) guests.\n\n\n\nWhat’
s Included:\n\n\n\n\n10 days / 9 nights aboard All Winds (Beneteau Oceanis
  41.1) in a guaranteed private double cabin.\n\n\n\n3:1 low-ratio coaching
and instruction with an experienced owner-skipper.\n\n\n\nAll marina bert
hing fees\, port dues\, mooring balls\, and transit logs.\n\n\n\nAll yacht
diesel and consumables.\n\n\n\nProfessional yacht end-cleaning and fresh
bed linen.\n\n\n\nComplete onboard provisioning for all breakfasts\, lunch
es\, and daytime sailing snacks.\n\n\n\nOfficial Audited Sea Time Log &amp
\; Mileage Certificate\, plus an individual Practical Seamanship Skills Po
rtfolio (fully valid for the Swiss Hochseeausweis and RYA requirements).\n
\n\n\n\n(Not included: Evening dinners ashore and personal travel to/from
Rogoznica.)\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy Join This October Passage?\n\n\n\n\nOctober is
Dalmatia’s Purest Sailing Month: The summer charter crowds and flotillas
are gone\, sea temperatures remain comfortable (19–20°C)\, and genuine
sailing breeze replaces the light summer haze.\n\n\n\nTrue Rest Between W
atches: You never share a cabin with a stranger. When your watch ends\, yo
u step down into your own quiet\, comfortable double cabin to sleep proper
ly.\n\n\n\nMid-Week Tuesday Departure: Travel home calmly without the Satu
rday airport crowds or weekend flight price spikes.\n\n\n\nZero Grey Areas
: Many sailing courses are run by skippers holding only a recreational lic
ense like the Swiss Hochseeschein. All Winds is commercially registered in
Croatia and run by a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster. There are no
shortcuts or legal grey areas—everything on board is 100% professional a
 nd above board.\n\n\n\n\nOnboard Language &amp\; Communication\n\n\n\nEngl
ish is the official working language aboard All Winds\, reflecting interna
tional maritime standards for coastal navigation\, log keeping\, and VHF r
adio communication. However\, clarity and comfort always come first.\n\n\n
\nYour coach speaks fluent German and fully understands Swiss German (Schw
iizerdütsch). While commands\, standard procedures\, and navigation are r
un in English\, complex aerodynamic concepts\, technical systems\, and deb
riefs can easily be explained in German whenever needed to ensure complete
confidence and zero stress.\n\n\n\nAbout Your Coach\n\n\n\nReal coaching
isn't just about knowing how to handle a boat\; it is about understanding
how adults acquire motor skills\, develop spatial judgment\, and build gen
uine instinct under seaway without feeling overwhelmed.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAtlan
tic Roots: Grew up sailing from childhood along the rugged south coast of
Ireland\, not far from the famous Fastnet Rock—one of the world's most d
emanding natural testing grounds for seamanship.\n\n\n\n35+ Years of Water
sports Coaching: Decades spent coaching and developing sailors across the
globe\, from serving as Chief Instructor at one of Ireland’s largest com
mercial watersports centres to running a sailing school in Maui\, Hawaii.\
n\n\n\nAcademic Foundation in Human Performance: Holds a First-Class Honou
rs Degree in Sports &amp\; Exercise Science and a Diploma in Sports Manage
ment. This background brings a structured\, analytical understanding of mo
tor learning\, kinetic feel\, and cognitive load management to boat handli
ng—moving far beyond the traditional "watch me do it" teaching style.\n\
n\n\nInstructional Background: Previously certified as an RYA/ISA Chief In
structor (Dinghy &amp\; Dayboat)\, RYA/ISA Advanced &amp\; Safety Boat Pow
 erboat Instructor\, and Level 5 Windsurfing Instructor.\n\n\n\nCommerciall
y Endorsed: Holds a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster. All Winds is ma
intained and operated to the Flag State's professional standards.\n\n\n\n\
nBooking\, Insurance &amp\; Terms\n\n\n\nAll Winds Adventures is operated
